下面的表格為攝取燕麥β-glucan對高血脂症成人的血脂改善效果,分為控制組每天服用葡萄糖,實驗組每天服用β-glucan,六週後,結果顯示實驗組其總膽固醇顯著下降0.3mmol/L (4.8%),壞的膽固醇也顯著下降0.3mmol/L (7.3%),證實服用β-glucan可降低血液中總膽固醇及壞的膽固醇的效果,進而改善高血脂病人的血脂狀況。
